The skywalk is the quiet advantage. On a busy beach road, being able to walk from room to sand without crossing traffic is worth a lot to parents and to anyone carrying chairs and coolers. The central location also means restaurants, shops and the Water Taxi are minutes away on foot. It is also well placed for the roster's quieter sights: Bonnet House and Hugh Taylor Birch State Park are a short ride north, and the Museum of Discovery and Science is fifteen minutes inland for a rainy day. The WestinWORKOUT studio lends recovery and strength gear, which suits travellers who keep a routine on the road.
Booking craft: pay for an ocean view, as the difference is significant here; ask about spa packages after the renovation; and use the resort-fee beach kit rather than renting chairs separately.
Practicals: valet or self-parking at a daily rate in the low sixties, with EV chargers subject to availability; about six miles, or twenty minutes, to the airport and a similar run to Port Everglades, with no hotel shuttle; up to two pets per room with a nightly fee plus a one-time cleaning fee. Expect a busier pool on winter weekends and holidays. The resort has about 35,000 square feet of event space, including a ballroom and the Sky Terrace, so weddings and conferences can fill the lobby on some weekends. Against the W next door it is the calmer, family-friendlier choice; against the Four Seasons, it costs far less for the same stretch of sand.

How do I get to the beach?
A private skywalk connects the pool deck to Fort Lauderdale Beach over A1A, so there is no road crossing. Chairs and towels from the resort fee, plus paid umbrellas and water-sports gear, wait on the sand at the far end.
What does the resort fee include?
Beach towels, chairs and toys, daily bike rentals, an hour of non-motorised water sports, seaside yoga and two welcome drinks with a dessert at Lona. Umbrellas cost extra. The bikes are a handy way to reach Bonnet House or the Las Olas beach end without moving the car.
Is the spa open?
Yes. The Heavenly Spa has reopened after a renovation, with massage, body treatments, facials, and nail and salon services. Book treatments ahead in the winter high season.

Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina
★★★★★
The spire is back — Fort Lauderdale's 1965 icon reopened in 2025 after a billion-dollar rebuild, rotating Pier Top lounge spinning again over a superyacht marina, with new towers, spa, and restaurant row beneath it. The city's stay of the moment.

Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale
★★★★★
The beach's most polished address — a Kobi Karp tower on A1A with two pools, a Forbes Five-Star spa and a Michelin-starred chef's counter, steps from the sand.

The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale
★★★★★
Beachfront luxury's steady hand — the glass crescent across from the wave wall with ocean-view everything, a seventh-floor pool deck over the Atlantic, club-level pampering, and the promenade at the crosswalk. The sure thing on the sand.

Lago Mar Beach Resort & Club
★★★★★
The family-owned secret at the beach's quiet end — a private half-mile of sand no public access touches, lagoon pools, bocce under the palms, and four generations of the same families returning to the same suites every winter.
